Larimar gemstones got its name from the Dominican explorer who discovered the stone in the 70s. Larimar is a portmanteau for his daughter's name, Larissa and the Spanish word for sea, mar.
Also referred to as the "Dolphin Stone," larimar is said to represent deep tranquility. Ultramarine blues and swirls of white cloud over the sand-speckled inclusions.
