The larimar stone is the Caribbean Sea epitomized. These larimar gemstones feature the aqua blue of pure water, white of ocean wave crests, and black stones on the ocean floor. The larimar stone is a very special substance, mined only the Dominican Republic and only since 1974. You can either choose to wrap these larimar beads with wire or silver and let their natural beauty shine alone, or use them in Caribbean-inspired jewelry.
Although the larimar stone has only been mined since 1974, it has an interesting reputation as the Atlantis stone. There some who believe that the great Atlantis which according to myth sank beneath the waves long ago was in the same spot as the Dominican Republic is now. The larimar stone, then, might be connected to that mighty and ancient city.
