The lapis stone's intense blue color has been known to inspire one to look up at the night sky, full of stars, and wonder. These lapis lazuli beads are speckled with stars themselves, although these aren't real stars, but sparkling deposits of mica. Lapis lazuli is technically a rock because it is made up of different minerals, as opposed to being a single mineral. The lapis lazuli stone has been a treasure for many millennia. In fact there's evidence that people were using the lapis stone over 6,500 years ago.
The rich and mysterious history of the lapis stone includes its use by Cleopatra of Egypt. She ground up the opulent blue rock and used it as eye shadow. Because lapis lazuli has been used for so many years, there's also of course much speculation about its perceived powers. The lapis stone is said above all to be the stone of truth and harmony, bringing friends together.
