The Oregon sunstone shines with the the light and power of our closest star, our sun. The sunstone gemstone is famous for the way that it sparkles when the light hits it just right, firing up the flecks of copper or hematite in the stone. The Oregon sunstone is thus named because it's mined in Lake County, Oregon, and on top of that, it's Oregon's official state gemstone. There's even a free public collecting area where you can harvest your own Oregon sunstones, but if you can't make it to the state, these sunstone beads will do the trick.
Much like the state of Oregon, the Oregon sunstone embodies adventure and inclusiveness. Many people consider additions of foreign materials to detract from the value of a mineral, but the addition of those very foreign materials, copper and hematite, are what makes the sunstone gemstone so special.
